Hi, I’m looking for some advice about what might be causing those dramatic 1% lows in the 2024 Riven remake. It runs on the Unreal Engine and I’ve maxed out my Asus Prime 5070Ti with 16 GB VRAM. It usually runs smoothly at 70-100 FPS and about 95% GPU usage most of the time. Sometimes it drops out for a brief moment. Could it be loading textures? Are there any settings I should adjust to fix this issue? Thanks!

Without full details, a search indicates texture streaming is a relevant topic in Unreal Engine. Adjusting texture streaming quality or pool size in game settings if possible. Turning off unused background applications. Updating GPU drivers. Fine-tuning graphics settings connected to streaming or view distance. Keep an eye on VRAM usage using msi afterburner + rtss overlay to monitor GPU memory in the game.

I need more details about your RAM; exactly what kind of system RAM are you using?
1. How many sticks of RAM
2. What speed in MHz
3. What latency

My main idea is that the 1% lows you’re seeing might be due to a specific issue with how the game loads assets while running, or maybe it’s not handling threads well. I’m not familiar with the game itself, but it doesn’t look like a clear hardware problem is present. If this bothers you, you could attempt to improve the situation by using more powerful hardware. I once had an i9-13900k and faced serious 1% lows in Farming Simulator 25. Since that game runs single-threaded, my frame rate dropped even though CPU usage stayed low. Switching to my current Ryzen 9950 X3D has greatly reduced those issues. Your CPU was decent for its time, but if you can afford it, a 9800X3D could make a big difference.
