Question Strange Texture Pop-Ins on High Settings in every one of my games?
Pc Specifications: Windows 11 Tuf Gaming x570- plus wifi 16 gbs Corsair Vengeance Ram Ryzen 7 5800x rtx asus 3070 Corsair PSU RM 750 Two Nvme ssds of 1k. Recently, I've experienced this problem for the past week: objects appearing very near my screen in games such as Elden Ring, bushes, shadows, or grass while playing on ultra. It also happens in Rdr2, Lord of the Rings online, Skyrim, and even in Starfield. Sometimes items or structures appear extremely close, making loading times seem unusually long. I'm unsure what's causing it—it isn't a loading screen issue. This isn’t happening to me, but it keeps happening. I’ve tried troubleshooting for several days and am growing increasingly frustrated. My GPU was sent to Canada Computers, where it ran for five hours without any issues. A full 95 test on my CPU and RAM completed successfully (about 20 minutes). I removed the extra RAM stick since I only had three and the previous one failed. I suspected a RAM problem because I had experienced a failure before. I reorganized all my RAM modules, tested each one individually during gameplay, but the issue remains. I downgraded my Nvidia drive from the latest model to an older driver in October, yet nothing changed. I performed a complete Windows 11 reinstall on my second NVMe SSD, but results were unchanged. I verified my hardware thoroughly and re-applied CPU paste, ensuring all cords are securely connected. During a full system freeze, I believed it might be related to the RAM adjustments, though that seems unlikely given my previous issues. I monitored my PC using MSI Afterburner and everything functions normally. My CPU usage stayed between 25% to 30% during games—either normal or an anomaly (Google suggested). I played several games for about three hours without crashes or instability, only experiencing these annoying pop-ins. I changed my monitor to check, but it didn’t affect the issue. My FPS is stable, though my performance in Starfield is poor (expected for that title). I updated my BIOS and confirmed everything was working correctly. Despite all checks, nothing seems amiss except this gaming-related glitch. I’m completely puzzled and would appreciate any advice or support. If this is related to my GPU software, please know—I’m not crazy. I found a relevant discussion here: Question - Texture pop in on high end PC? A new PC (about six months old) upgraded from a GTX 1080 to an RTX 4090 Phantom. Specs: RTX 4090 Phantom 7800X3D 32gb DDR5, Samsung 980 NVMe SSD, three Windows reinstalls, DDU RMA 4090 installed twice. Tried Nvidia Profile Inspector and control panel settings. All games still behave strangely. Forums.
Welcome to the forums, newcomer!
(Some Corsair PSU, I think it's 750.)
You need to be specific about the make and model of your PSU and it's age.
Did a bios update, too.
What BIOS version are you currently on for your motherboard?
As for your platform's drivers, did you use DDU to remove all GPU drivers(Intel, AMD and Nvidia) then manually reinstalled with the latest drivers from Nvidia's support site in an elevated command, i.e, Right click installer>Run as Administrator?
Hey so it's an RM 750 CORSAIR PSU. It's a pretty good one too. I am also on the most update version for my board. I did whole format of the drive before I did windows 11, so I don't think I would need to reinstall the drive again, as it would of been wiped when I did that. I did downgrade before I did a full reinstall of windows 11, and no change. I didn't use DDU but I did use the nvidia site to find the drivers, I assume it wouldn't make a difference now. Jagged Shadows,Pop in,Low LOD and jagged aa I found this thread on it and they have the same issues as me. I assume theres no fix,
Hello.
I'm facing the same issue with my Corsair HX1200w. Every game causes texture pop-ins at very close distances, which is a problem. Everything available on OCCT for stability worked fine. Games like Doom Eternal and Doom 2016 don't have this issue because of Vulkan probably. I cleared all caches from Nvidia and Steam.
Any solution? Have tickets opened with Nvidia and AMD but oh boy, I really hope that ever happens.
I'm checking for PSU issues, did I modify the PSU? I just ran a full OCCT stability test and everything came back fine. I intend to swap out my PSU this week, and if it's not the PSU, I'll replace the motherboard too. I'm really puzzled since I thought testing would help, but so far nothing has worked—this is my last option. I'm also curious if it's software-related. Please check the thread I mentioned earlier.
Changing the PSU had no effect. OCCT will proceed with everything except the full power test since my GPU hotspot is now uncomfortably near 85ºC, and I closed the test manually. I plan to take the computer back to the store again if the problem persists, and then I’ll demand a refund.
I completed a full power test for an hour, maintaining around 85 degrees, and experienced no crashes. This seems odd, possibly indicating a motherboard issue, given previous ram failure and difficulties installing the GPU. It might have been something damaged over time. I suggest testing the computer elsewhere to rule out an outlet problem. Check the linked thread for more details.
Did you verify the GPU-Z results to ensure the card operates at the intended PCIe rate?
There seems to be a discrepancy in the idle and full usage settings. When idle it was at 1.1 but switched to 4.0 during active use. Stopping HWinfo didn't reveal the GPU version change, yet performance remains consistent. Texture pop-ins are still visible despite the changes.
