I've been using Stable Diffusion Automatic1111 for several months now.
I recently set it up on a desktop machine and everything functions smoothly.
Specs: i7-11700, 32 gigabytes of RAM, GeForce 2080 (8 gigabytes).
I can upscale an 1024x1024 image eight times in about three hours using LDSR.
It operates normally in the webui-user with around 7.8/8 gigabytes used during the process.
On my laptop, it starts to fail after a few minutes, reporting VRAM has been exceeded.
I've tried --medvram and --lowvram settings, but they don't resolve the issue.
It lowers the initial VRAM cost by using RAM instead, but once LDSR loads, it quickly runs out of memory.
I've closed all apps to maximize available VRAM and memory.
Is there a way to inform Automatic1111 about my available VRAM?

It seems the A1111 hasn't performed well on my 8GB configuration since SDXL. You may want to compare the baseline VRAM usage of both systems and see what differs. It's unlikely VRAM could switch roles. Perhaps try upscaling separately after generating. You could also use ComfyUI, which I've found more efficient in terms of VRAM and more flexible.

I forgot to note.
I already have the images I'm attempting to enlarge.
I'm using the Extra section and performing the upscale there.
