I own an older Toshiba C55D-A5201 laptop that hasn't been used for a while, and it keeps showing the "RTC Battery Is Low" warning when it starts up. After swapping out the RTC battery and rebooting, the issue persists every time. I've confirmed the replacement battery is functioning properly. Any advice? Thanks!

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!
What voltage do you observe on the CMOS battery in the laptop before it was replaced, and what is the voltage of the replacement CMOS battery? You might want to check the rest of the motherboard near the CMOS battery for any corrosion marks or stains.
Did the laptop battery get disconnected while it was stored? You mentioned months—how long is that?
The thread has been moved from the Components section to the Laptop Tech Support section.

Have you checked the BIOS recently? It seems you might need to either manually save and close or use a specific reset method for the RTC battery alert.

Looking for a reset feature didn’t yield any results for this laptop. The error screen also prevents access to the BIOS.

This approach doesn't appear correct. Try accessing the BIOS from Windows. Keep the Shift key pressed during restart; it will open the recovery menu, offering an option to enter the BIOS. Alternatively, you might use the provided tools on your laptop to update the system's BIOS/firmware.
