Question Rolling back Nvidia drivers safely
Question Rolling back Nvidia drivers safely
Due to the recent nvidia driver update, some Destiny 2 players face crashes during startup. Users report that reverting to an older driver version resolved the problem. The ideal method remains unclear.
The question refers to a particular driver that is considered important. In general, you usually just remove the existing drivers and install newer ones. But right now, it's better not to do that. Additional details are required: please update your post with complete hardware specifications and operating system info. Clarify the issues you're facing—does your setup have those problems? Are you experiencing difficulties with Destiny 2 or other games? Check the Reliability History or Event Viewer for any specific errors. More information is needed.
I'm experiencing the same issue as many others in the Destiny 2 community after the latest NVIDIA driver update. The game only crashes during startup, and once it runs, I have no problems with crashes or other issues. I also have Windows 10 Pro with these specifications: RTX 3080, Ryzen 5800x, Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro (32GB, 3200MHz), Asus TUF Gaming X570 Pro, Corsair RM850X, 1TB Samsung Evo Plus NVMe, 500GB Samsung SATA SSD, and a 2TB HDD.
Download the necessary drivers from NVIDIA's site (https://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx?lang=en-us)
Turn off the internet connection
Navigate to Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features, remove all NVIDIA driver components. No need to restart if prompted during removal
Restart the computer
Apply the updated drivers
Restart again
Reconnect to the internet
It's crucial to disconnect from the internet first, or else Windows may attempt to locate a driver automatically.
