Hello, I purchased this mouse - Connect IT Doodle (CI-1143) a few years back and it functioned properly until recently. Now it fails to complete a full color cycle, skipping some shades such as blue and purple. Although I understand it can still show these colors, I noticed it briefly turned on when I reset it by unplugging and plugging it back in with specific clicks.

I no longer have the chance to return it or request a refund, and I’m not in the mood to buy another one just for minor issues. Still, I wanted to check if there was a simple solution.

For more background, this model only supports one color mode—no options to change colors freely.

Nevertheless, I understand that it can show these colors since when I disconnected it from my PC and then reconnected it (while holding left + right click with DPI for a complete reset), it briefly activated. Have you attempted connecting the mouse to another system to check if the problem repeats? If the mouse didn’t come with software to control its LEDs, it’s likely the internal controller failed. In that case, you’d have to take the mouse apart, locate the controller, and remove or reattach it to test. It might seem like a lot of work for a budget model. I can’t return the item or request a refund anymore, and I’m not in the mood to purchase another one just because of this minor issue. Still, I thought it worth mentioning in case there’s a simple solution. If the mouse had a warranty program, RMA could be an option.

Thanks for the response, and yes, connecting it to my laptop works the same way, which suggests the problem might be with the mouse. I’m considering checking the LED controller fix, but I haven’t taken it apart before. Is this something anyone can do? Do you have any videos or posts that could assist? The manual seems very basic and doesn’t provide much detail beyond the main features.

Can a regular person handle this task? If you possess the necessary tools and soldering abilities, along with understanding what to check about the controller, then yes. The fact you're inquiring suggests you lack those specific resources or expertise.
Or are there any videos or posts that might assist?
No.
The manual for this mouse is quite straightforward and mainly covers basic functions, offering little practical guidance for this issue.
That's what I mentioned—repairing a mouse that can be easily swapped is pointless. I reviewed images of the device and it appears assembled from mismatched components not meeting quality standards, likely sourced from another brand. It would be inexpensive, with internal parts holding it together.
Personally, if the mouse operates correctly—such as all buttons functioning—consider ignoring the appearance of the lighting.

Yes, I was wondering since I haven't tried it before, it might lead to more problems than help. Sorry, it seems this likely isn't a straightforward solution, but it's still worth mentioning. Thanks.
