Question Ram operates at 3200MHz yet functions at 2666MHz
Hello everyone, I've finally completed my gaming setup. The rig includes an MSI b450m pro max II, a Ryzen 5 5500, a Kingstone Fury 2x8 at 3200MHz, and an RX 5600 XT. The RAM is labeled as 3200MHz, but when I try to enable A-XMP in BIOS it's disabled with a message saying it's not supported. If I manually set the RAM frequency to 3200MHz, the BIOS still shows 2666MHz instead of 3200MHz, and the PC won't boot properly, stuck on a grey screen. What should I do? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

What BIOS version do you have installed on your motherboard?
The RAM is labeled at 3200MHz, but when I open BIOS to try enabling A-xmp, it becomes grayed out and displays (Not supported).
Please share the link to the RAM kit you're using.
You didn't mention the PSU's make and model. If it's been in use for a while, note its age.
I don't understand how to verify it. The PC was built just two hours ago.
To verify, access the BIOS and observe the top right corner where the BIOS version is displayed for most MSI motherboards from the last ten years. The available RAM should function properly, though a similar kit might be worth considering.

I can't find a good PSU because the price is really high here.
What about the RAM issue then?

Your RAM lacks an XMP profile, which is why A-XMP isn't available. However, it can run at 3200mhz without requiring XMP. Adjust the DRAM frequency to 3200mhz and raise the DRAM voltage to 1.35V.

I’m having trouble getting a good PSU because the cost here is extremely high.
We’re dealing with your system, so we can only give advice. Keep in mind that the PSU is the core of your setup. If it’s poorly made and experiences a failure, everything connected to it will stop working.

You still have one more (non-Beta) BIOS update pending. If you can’t manually adjust the DRAM frequency to DDR4-3200MHz, set the voltage between 1.35 and 1.4v, keep all timings on AUTO, then consider updating the BIOS to version 7C52vA5, reset the CMOS, and try modifying the RAM frequency and voltage as described, or check if you can enable a radio button for X.M.P.
