I recently changed my GPU to a 4070 Super and upgraded the PSU to an FSP Vita GM 850W Gold. I haven't encountered any problems while playing Baldur's Gate 3, but when I try Warzone or Delta Force the system suddenly stops (including Indiana Jones and the Great Circle). It then restarts with fans turning on briefly before shutting off again until I disconnect it. I suspect a thermal problem, so I cleaned everything today, reapplied thermal paste, and repositioned the cooler. The issue continues. How can I verify if the faulty PSU is the cause?

I ran HWinfo last night but the results are overwhelming with numbers; I'm unsure what to focus on.

The PSU is single rail, and the GPU is connected via the dedicated 12V cable that came with the PSU.

It's understandable given the situation, especially with a 13700K. You'll want a motherboard that offers solid VRM performance. What information does HWinfo provide regarding the VRM temperatures?

Can't find a VRM heading. Is it the VR VCC one? The max voltage was 79, but it didn't appear when it shut down. The logs only showed temperatures. I'll try running it again with the default settings.

On the VRM MOS the maximum was 87 but that occurred 9 minutes prior to shutdown. By the moment it stopped, it was only 75

So turns out there is a newer Bios update available. Will update and check if that helps with things and update the post accordingly

Before you change your BIOS, record the current version and date. After updating, note the new BIOS release and its date in this discussion. Around which month did you begin playing games on this system prior to the BIOS update?

I used the f29(dec 2023) version which I updated to f30 (sept 2024) yesterday. Prior to this, I had a 1080 and a 750w PSU, and this problem didn’t happen. The same system except for the GPU and PSU upgrade completed now. I’ve been gaming on it since purchasing it, sometime between late 2022 and early 2023. Components are quite costly in my country, even this h610 was 1.2k, so I’m worried it might be a Mobo issue if I have to spend 4-8k for an upgrade.
