I recently assembled this PC using an i3 10100f and a GTX 1660 Super, but its performance in games isn’t up to expectations. It delivers typical results on benchmarks, such as:
GeekBench 5: 1125 Single-Core, 3769 Multi-Core (multi-core score falls short of the expected range)
Timespy: 4200 Points for CPU, 5700 Points for GPU (GPU score seems reasonable, but CPU is below ideal)
Cinebench R23: 1160 Single Core and 5574 Multi-Core (scores appear normal)
I suspect the weak multi-core performance might stem from having only 1 16GB RAM instead of 2, along with 8 dual-channel slots.

In Far Cry 5, I often struggle to maintain a consistent 60 FPS, even though my CPU and GPU aren’t at full capacity—neither are individual threads or cores. A similar pattern shows up in Forza Horizon 5, where my GPU usage stays around 70-80% and CPU around 60%, yet frames drop below 60 FPS. Reducing settings helps, but the hardware can handle the tasks. Comparing benchmarks to other systems looks alike, yet gameplay feels off.

My BIOS is set to default, all drivers are up-to-date from Gigabyte’s site (H510m motherboard), RAM is at 2666MHz (maximum for 10th gen i3), Windows is the latest version, and CPU usage during games stays around 1-2%. Any suggestions?

You might do better with 2x8/16GB dual-channel RAM.
Tell me about the games you've played; some may not run well due to engine limitations.

I question if the problem lies with the game engine since Forza Horizon 5 is a top-tier optimization by Microsoft, and even then, the FPS on YouTube surpasses my own. Any opinions?
