Question PC frequently stops and resumes during gameplay?
Did you change the PSU to the identical model from the same manufacturer? Also, is the new PSU brand new or used/refurbished?
Occasional restarts or power cuts are mainly due to two problems:
1. The CPU/GPU gets too hot and the system stops to avoid damage.
2. The PSU doesn’t provide enough power to the GPU or can’t maintain stable voltage for the PC to run smoothly.
First, check your CPU/GPU temperatures—both when idle and under load. For example, using HWinfo64. If the temps are normal, it’s likely the PSU is the issue.
By the way, the MSI MAG A-GL 850W has average quality, rated as Tier B.
For a PC with a dedicated GPU, a Tier A PSU is ideal. Examples include Seasonic Focus/Vertex/PRIME, Corsair RMx/RMi/HXi/AXi, and Super Flower Leadex Gold/Platinum/Titanium.

Tier A will suffice, while Tier A+ is better.
(My two PCs are powered only by Tier A+ PSUs. I own Seasonic PRIME 650 Titanium (Tier A+) and Seasonic PRIME Ultra 650 Titanium (Tier A+) units. Detailed specs with photos are in my profile.)
I do not agree. The primary reason for this behavior is RAM instability.
RAM instability doesn't lead to abrupt power loss. What actually causes instability is data corruption and at most, a BSoD. It doesn’t result in total power cut-off or system restart. However, a low-quality PSU can definitely trigger these signs, because the PSU supplies power to everything, not just the RAM.
Which model year should you consider?
* 2013 - Green label - Poor quality, near-waste material. Tier C-
* 2017 - Gray label - Average quality. Tier B
* 2023 - Black label - Low quality. Tier C
Even if you use a PSU of similar or worse quality, it doesn’t eliminate the possibility of a PSU problem. The safe choice is to ensure a high-quality unit, such as Tier A or A+.
In a comparable way, swapping a flat tire on a car with another brand’s tire won’t restore proper driving; you need a reliable tire for good performance. Similarly, choose a reliable PSU.

850W unit is Tier A- while 1050W unit is Tier A.
Shutdown doesn't always indicate a power loss. It may occur when the BIOS or OS identifies an unusual situation. Memory might be involved. BIOS typically triggers this during overheating, voltage fluctuations, or overload. OS/Windows generally responds to abnormal behavior in software and hardware, including RAM.
