My system has been affected after upgrading from a 1080p to a 1440p display. It now crashes frequently while playing games, though it works normally otherwise. I encounter the Kernel 41 fault during crash protocols, but no dump file is generated.

Cleaning the installation of Windows always causes crashes. Occasionally the PC fails to start and powers off instantly after about 0.1 seconds (CMOS reset resolves this).

I purchased the RTX 3070 second-hand from a crypto miner.

What steps have you taken to troubleshoot or resolve the problem?
- Uninstalled and reinstalled graphics drivers.
- Updated BIOS.
- Performed a memory check on Windows.
- Tested the system at 1080p on the new monitor.
- Ran the PC with 1080p on the upgraded display.
- Attempted a clean Windows installation (unsuccessful).

Please share any further information you’d like to provide.
Could anyone suggest additional actions I could try? I now believe the motherboard might be the root cause, but I’ve reset it and updated the BIOS—everything seems fine.

your title appears to suggest a link between the new monitor and system crashes, but you haven't mentioned testing another display to confirm this connection. it's more probable that the aging mining card is no longer capable of handling gaming tasks.

system never crashed with the old monitor and also stopped when switching back
now it also crashes with the old monitor, likely due to many settings changes
. Probably a driver, motherboard, or BIOS issue is responsible

it's possible something similar occurred around the same time you began using the new monitor, making it appear this way.
try resetting BIOS to default settings instead of just uninstalling; remove all graphics drivers via DDU, reinstall the latest driver from Nvidia, and check Device Manager for any flagged hardware.
this might be due to the worn-out card reaching the end of its lifespan after prolonged gaming use.
it likely feels like a coincidence that these events happened together.
where did you obtain the Windows installation package from?
while installing, always use the Media Creation Tool from Microsoft.com directly.
