Question PC Black Displays/Crashes During Light Use/Idle State
Background: All my PC displays have been suddenly going black, and it restarts automatically. I’m unable to determine the root cause. This problem appears only when performing normal web browsing or idle tasks. Under heavy load and while playing games, the system functions normally without any restarts. It usually restarts after about 10 minutes after booting into Windows, but sometimes it works for 1 to 2 hours before a restart occurs.
The main concern that bothers me most is why this issue arises only during low/idle operations and not during gaming sessions.

Latest BIOS update 1809 downloaded. The new version was released at the start of the month; I plan to update this evening but hope it resolves the issue.

Please reflash the BIOS with version 1813/. After confirming the flash succeeded, turn off the system, disconnect from power and display, then remove the CMOS battery for 30 minutes. Replace it, enable E.X.P.O, and check if the problem remains.
How is your processor being cooled?
5| + 6| Did you replace the EVGA unit with a different PSU to rule out that as the cause?

Where did you obtain the OS installer from? Were you installing it offline and manually adding all drivers in an elevated command?

I updated the BIOS to version 1813 and adhered to the steps when removing the CMOS. I just activated EXPO. I’ll share an update once I’ve left the PC for a while.
My setup includes a NZXT Kraken Elite RGB 360 with CPU cooling.
I used an old EVGA 750W power supply a few years ago and also experimented with an EVGA 850W unit from my Unraid server.
I created a USB installer using the Windows Media Creation tool. The installation was done offline, and drivers were installed manually.

Yes, after looking up more online I discovered a discussion mentioning that software with hardware acceleration activated can trigger the nvlddkvm.sys file, leading to crashes or BSODs. After disabling hardware acceleration in programs like Discord and Spotify, my screen would randomly freeze when idle. I haven't experienced a BSOD or crash since about a week ago after this post.
