Hi, from the title. My issue is I can't overclock my RAM above 2666 MHz. My RAM is Corsair Vengence LPX 8GB -2400 1.2V CL16-- 16 16 16 16 39.
My motherboard is an ASRock AB350m Pro4 which supports 3200 OC.
My CPU is an AMD Ryzen 5 1600, and the specs mention DDR4-2666.
I'm wondering if my RAM is being limited by my processor or if I can still overclock it.
I'm trying to decide whether buying 3200 MHz dual-channel RAM is a good investment.
I managed to increase from 2400 to 2666 with 1.35V, but anything higher doesn't work. My PC keeps rebooting until it enters safe mode and restarts normally at 2400.

You might need to push the RAM harder. You'll have a good chance of getting 2400 at speeds above 2666. The optimal approach is to run it at 2666mhz with clock speeds between 1.25 and 1.35, and set all timings to auto. After confirming stability with memtest86+, you can adjust the basic settings to looser values. Your DIMMS configuration should be 16-16-16-16-39, but you might want to try 18-18-18-18-41 for better stability. Since OC RAM is trial and error, each setup may vary depending on your specific motherboard and components.

Well, you're quite fortunate. Most DIMMS with slower speeds don't over-OC to high levels (usually 2-3 straps above stock), which is for clear reasons. Otherwise, no one would purchase the higher-speed DIMMS—just opt for the lower ones and adjust them! Still, I'd be interested in seeing your timings, voltages, etc.

The B350M Gaming Pro offers great RAM overclocking options in its BIOS. It was mostly easy—just pick 3333 from the available speeds, though I'm not sure of the exact results.

If your settings are using auto, the intervals will be quite wide, which might reduce some of the advantages of higher speeds. Are you using auto or manual timing? What voltage are you applying—auto or manual? You can display your CPU-Z screen's SPD/Mem tabs to show the details. Tools like AIDA64 can help measure the DIMMS latency at OC speeds; testing at stock settings could reveal if higher speeds still matter much with high latency.

If there’s something you can share that helps others, it would be appreciated. I plan to try the 3333 configuration on my own motherboard later, since its timing doesn’t support XMP/DOCP settings like yours.

I didn't mention that 3333 was the maximum value and it took my PC a while to start, probably testing something by turning it on and off several times, 5th time... BOOM, 3333. I'm sure it worked because Quake Champions had no lag while playing.

Well, that seems really shaky, and I think if you tried it properly, you'd probably see it fail. But if you're okay with the result, then that's fine. For anyone looking for a reliable mem OC, there are clear methods and mistakes to avoid! Increasing speed by 40% and repeatedly failing to boot won't help your system and might even damage your OS.

what are your VCCSA, VCCIO, VTTDDR readings?
what is your DDR4 temperature? keep it under 1.35 drams if temps rise (no thermal monitoring for DDR then check with finger; avoid exceeding 1.40v drams).
there are many other voltages to adjust that could be risky if too high
