Question Overclocking GPU. Need some help[Beginner]
I've experimented with Core clock, memory clock, and a bit of Voltage in msi afterburner.
I raised the core clock to +210 after time, and all tests went smoothly unless I exceeded +215 during benchmarks, which then caused issues. The same happened with the kombustor.
A few game artifacts appear if I hit +220. My M.Clock stays at +350 without problems, and voltage is around +30—probably not necessary to adjust further. Temperatures never exceed 65°C.
FPS in games hovers between 60-100+, sometimes dropping to 45-50 in big cities.
My MHZ fluctuates constantly, and I'm curious if it's possible to maintain around 2000+ MHz at all times?
The highest it reaches is about 2066 MHz in games and benchmarks.
I'm using a GTX 1070.
You’re likely hitting the maximum for your core clock. Raising it by 5 in increments of 5 in afterburner will only display a real-world MHz increase of 15mhz at a time. The changes you notice from the GPU are automatically adjusting the core clock based on core temperatures. Try turning your fans to maximum and observe the effect. It’s realistic to expect about a 1000mhz boost in memory clock speed. Also, if you input 200+ and get around 2025mhz, increase to 210 and it stays at 2025mhz, then go to 215 and reach 2040mhz—this shows the stepwise jump. If you keep going to 215 and still see 2025mhz, it suggests the afterburner limit has been reached. Hope this clarifies things.
