Hi All,
I updated all components except my old GPU, which is the RTX 3060. Now I’m limited to using the built-in CPU graphics because the GPU isn’t functioning properly.
What’s happening:
- Only HDMI cable is used for the dedicated RTX – the white LED on the mainboard stays lit – but the screen stays black
- Device Manager displays an error code 43
- Fans are spinning and the GPU LEDs are active
I’ve tried:
- Uninstalling all NVIDIA drivers for the RTX3060
- Reconnecting the GPU, removing the power cable from both sides and the PSU cords, then reattaching them
- Using different HDMI inputs (only two available, none worked)
- Starting a fresh system with a new SSD; only GPU issues appeared, everything else worked fine
- Updating BIOS to the latest version – dxdiag reports it’s running: 3278
My system details:
Mainboard: Asus ROG B650e-i
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7900X
GPU: AIO Arctic Liquid Freezer 3
RAM: Kingston FURY 32GB DDR5 5200MHz
PSU: Corsair SF Series Platinum SF750
I’m trying to find a way to test the old GPU on another machine… Any suggestions? Don’t waste another $500 on a new one, okay?
🙁
Even though it seems broken for some reason.

Did you verify that all components on your PC are compatible with your GPU?

Hey - yes, I did, it's compatible and should function properly.

After seven days of troubles, it looks like I finally resolved the issue... here’s what happened if anyone else faces this:
First, I changed the PSu cables for the GPU, reinserted the GPU, and purchased a new Displayport cable – but it didn’t work.
Then I adjusted the BIOS settings, changing the PCIE lane from Auto to Gen4. It worked for a few minutes before Windows crashed.
Solution:
I reopened BIOS and switched the PCIE lane from Gen4 to Gen3!
Now there are no crashes at all. CPU-Z, GPU-Z, and Task Manager all display the correct clock speed again.
