Question My website project isn't finished yet!
No. I work for an institution. Which is seeing a growth in recent times only. Thus funds are just now only started to pour in gradually. I am a VBA Developer (Ms Office Automation Specialist) by profession. Upon seeing my talent in automation (I am a natural coder), my boss who is a deciding authority in the admin level wants me to try my level best before concluding 'Cannot be Done'. The main problem is that the previous and the current guys in the IT level are not competent enough. That's what my Guess. There are 'Departments'. I belong to one. We are alloted PCs from our department. There is an intranet within the departments and among the departments. Currently that intranet is being used only to share internet only. My Boss was in our department earlier now he got promoted to a level where he can decide things in the institution level. Initially (as of now) he is letting the thing as it is. Slowly but steadily we reforms the structure. So kindly provide me a list of questions/request I have put before the hardware team tomorrow. Are you sure there no way to access the IIS without touching the client system firewall (Sonicwall it is). We will be happy if it works without going to them. Otherwise I and my department staffs need to devise a plan on approaching them. Because if we go through the proper channel. There's is a big word called 'approvals' will block our way. I am asking again... No way of achieving this with the current setup itself. I wonder how the SQL Server is working but. No problem. Thanks all for reading and replying. Thanks again.
There isn't anything flawless here. We're navigating a vessel with many imperfections. We can't halt for repairs, so we must continue our journey. That means we need to fix things while we're still moving. My Boss is the captain.
And I also observed:
"We are making gradual improvements to the structure. Please share with me the questions or requests I have submitted to the hardware team tomorrow. Are there any methods to access the IIS without interfering with the client system firewall (Sonicwall it is)?"
No, I do not wish to provide a list of questions. That is your responsibility. Treat it as Damage Control.
Accessing IIS and attempting to assist with that is clearly against Forum rules.
Indeed, there are many ships on the ocean floor. And numerous bad captains with them....
Do you plan to sink with the ship?"
