My PC occasionally posts and sometimes doesn't, even though everything is powered on and fans are running. This happened after installing Lian Li Strimer V2 Plus for my GPU. Before that, it always posted and started without issues with just a single beep. With the 24-pin Strimer cable, it worked fine until I added the 8-pin version. Since then, it has failed to boot sometimes, requiring me to open the case and force the 8-pin PCIE connection. After several attempts, I managed to get a post again, but the single beep is gone. If it doesn't post, the monitor shows no signal. I tried reseating RAM, cleaning contact pins, resetting CMOS, using a newer PSU and PCIE cable, switching to another GPU plus monitor, and even unplugging the Strimer cables without any extension—still nothing worked. A repair shop diagnosed it as a faulty HDD, which I replaced with a new one. It has booted without issues now. However, a few days later the same problem reappeared. It seems unrelated to the HDD; my PC booted fine before the cable change. The issue appears to be with the cold boot. It might take about 4 to 5 tries to get a post without the beep. Could the Lian Li Strimer cables have damaged the motherboard or affected the PSU?

The PSU provided power for a GPU before the RTX4060.

Hi is this resolved? I'm experiencing the same problem where my PC lacks a beep sound and signal, yet it boots normally occasionally without any issues.

The silence isn't from the main speaker, but a broken wire from the internal mobo. I purchased several from Aliexpress and it starts beeping again. Still can't pinpoint the exact issue causing the boot failure. It sometimes boots up, other times not, especially during cold restarts. To get a boot, I need to turn it on and off 8-10 times. Once it works, I can restart and shut down the PC quickly, but it shouldn’t stay on for more than an hour. When it fails to boot, it shows a single beep—everything seems normal except no signal to the monitor or a black screen. I’m wondering if a broken PCIE slot retaining clip is the cause, even though the clip feels tight now. Maybe a loose connection from that could be the reason. I also tried a cheap GPU anti sag support to see if it helps, but that didn’t resolve the problem. The PSU voltage readings are fine, and unplugging the Lian Li strimer didn’t fix it either, even with an extra monitor. It’s been two months of troubleshooting, which has been frustrating and wasted my money on repairs and a new SSD with no results.

1070 GTX. The 4060RTX was functioning properly before I added the lian li strimer. It seems the strimer might have damaged the PSU or GPU? I didn't connect it straight to the PSU. Even when using the previous working 1070 GTX, the screen still displayed black.
