Question My latest computer restarts constantly whenever I attempt to launch Skyrim (and in various other scenarios)
Good evening. I started a discussion in "systems," but a friend suggested moving it to this forum.
One of my friends pointed me toward this site and mentioned I could get assistance, so I wanted to say thank you to everyone for making such a helpful community.
Last week I finally assembled my new PC, which is the current configuration:
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/mzhmPX
My issue is that my computer restarts when I open a game—specifically during gameplay in Skyrim and PUBG, usually between 10 to 20 seconds. It happens at other times too, like after working for about 3 or 4 hours without reason.
Here’s what I tried or had to do:
At first, the motherboard wasn’t compatible with my CPU, so I had to update the BIOS.
I left the automatic restart option in Windows (first time using Windows 10).
I updated all the CPU drivers and most of them with Easydriver.
I attempted overclocking but didn’t understand it well, so I turned it off.
I set the RAM usage to a minimum of 5% and maximum at 90% in the energy settings.
I changed the RAM slots to different ones.
Every bit of advice is greatly appreciated, because I’m not very familiar with hardware or technology, and a friend helped me build this PC. It’s my main tool for work.
Thank you.
Little update: Someone told me the power supply unit is important here; I don’t grasp much about it, but I found some details on HWiNFO.
Your video card isn't listed in the pcpartpicker link.
Avoid using drivereasy—it creates more problems than it solves.
Get drivers directly from the manufacturer.
Check your memory if you're ready.
If successful, find instructions on removing and reinstalling the video driver.
Let us know.
Hello and thank you so much for the answer!
I didn't bought a video card yet, as I don't have the money (it took me many months to buy these things, that's why i'm a bit saddened this error keeps happening), I plan to buy it later this year, but I heard I could play that particular game with my CPU card, the ADM Radeon Graphics.
As soon as I get home I will test my memory! Thank you for that info.
About drivereasy, okay, thanks, I didn't knew that, I'm sure the CPU drivers (and the included radeon graphics), I updated it from the manufacturer website, in an ADM Radeon file. If I recall correctly the only drivers I needed to upload with drivereasy were the sound card drivers.
But if you recommend me to remove and re-install the video drivers I will try that too!
Thank you Xrobwx71!
A little update, when I try to rotate pictures with the windows photo tool, it also reboots randomly.
Not with adobe photoshop, that seems to work fine.
Hello, the process took approximately 5 hours yet completed successfully.
No errors were detected in memory.
