The PC runs an Intel® Pentium® 4 and has documentation available at the provided link. I've tried various RAM modules and the system started up before, but with a newer Core I2 DUO it failed to POST and emitted four distinct beeps. I attempted a CMOS reset and reviewed troubleshooting guides, though the issue remains unclear. The original configuration still functions properly.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!
Check the entire motherboard for swollen capacitors. If your old processor was working on the same board, you might want to test it on a different one. You could remove the processor and observe its behavior.
Also, consider cleaning the base of the processor with isopropyl alcohol and an eraser. Make sure to clear any residue from the CPU's underside before trying again. Bent or damaged CPU socket pins?

I checked the motherboard and didn't see any swollen or leaking capacitors, no bent or broken socket pins, and the CPU pins were cleaned with an eraser but nothing changed. When I removed the CPU to start the PC, it didn't even try to power on, with no fans working. The motherboard had worked before that day, but it stopped functioning when I tried the newer CPU with a Pentium.
