Question My gaming pc isn't running smoothly, need assistance
Hello there. I’m reaching out for assistance regarding a significant problem with my gaming setup. About two weeks back, it began acting strangely—stuttering on the desktop and in games even though everything was working perfectly before. The frame rate would drop by about 10 frames per second, and the audio would become distorted. When idle, the fans would make loud noises. Initially, it seemed like a software issue that was consuming resources, but the Task Manager didn’t show anything out of the ordinary, and Malwarebytes found no threats. Reinstalling Windows last night (while keeping my settings intact) didn’t resolve the problem.
I’ve kept my system clean—no suspicious files, no overclocking, and aside from games, launchers, and tools like RivaTuner Statistics and OCCT. The drivers are up to date, and the Windows updates seem to be causing something. It’s unlikely it’s malware. My hardware specs are: an I7 8700 processor, a HD370 HD3 motherboard, a Gigabyte RTX 3060 Ti graphics card, two 8GB DDR4 3000MHz modules (with XMP enabled at 2666MHz), an ICUE 4000x RGB case, a Fortron ATX 700W 80+ bronze power supply, one SATA SSD for the operating system, one Intel NVMe SSD for games, and one HDD for old data. Everything was assembled by professionals. The CPU is still new, but the motherboard and OS SSD are several years old (the HDD is just fine).
I’m concerned about this issue and fear it could become permanent if left unresolved. It’s becoming increasingly difficult to use the PC. If I don’t fix it, I might have to replace the entire system—it’s essentially unusable now.

What is the age of that PSU in your build? Which Windows 10 version are you currently using? What BIOS version applies to your motherboard? Also, verify the driver version for your GPU. If there are pending BIOS updates for your motherboard, progress step by step toward the newest one instead of switching immediately.
The PSU is brand new, like two months old, I had it installed when I switched from my old gtx 1060 to an rtx 3060. It's the latest version of windows 10 family, last update was a few days ago. Bios version is F13, I never bothered with the newer versions because F14 and F15 sounded non essential to me and I know there's a risk of breaking it. I have the absolute latest GPU driver downloaded directly from nvidia, 465.89.
