Question My game shuts down for 10 seconds, then resumes functioning during gameplay?
I've experienced this problem for several months where, while playing a game, I suddenly disconnect for roughly 10 to 15 seconds. It can happen often or only occasionally, sometimes every hour. There have been days when it never occurred at all. My internet connection is stable except during these interruptions. I don't notice ping spikes or lag unless it happens. Sometimes the game cuts me off completely, and other times everything freezes for 10 to 15 seconds before returning to normal. Eventually, the game recovers and things resume as usual.
This issue isn't related to the Ethernet cable—I unplugged it and it worked on both wired and wireless connections. An ISP representative visited me and claimed there was nothing wrong with the router, suggesting it might be their fault. Could it be my motherboard chipset that's causing this?
Details:

It might be a hardware problem. Are there any games that work on any USB-connected device? If only certain titles are affected, I can provide a list.
Are you certain it only occurs during gameplay? Drops in connectivity aren't always clear otherwise. Usually, videos play ahead of the actual moment, so even if your connection drops briefly, you still have buffered data to use until it resumes. I suspect this might be happening across all situations, but only becomes apparent during games. If it's truly limited to games, it could point to software problems. Do you have any optimization tools installed? Have you tried reverting drivers from a few releases back? Or perhaps a complete Windows reset to check if the issue remains?
Also, don't rely solely on tech experts who claim their devices are perfect. Some may exaggerate or lack proper knowledge. Their statements aren't always reliable.
