Question Modified Minecraft BSOD during startup
I've been attempting to run a modded version of Minecraft on my PC, but during startup it either crashes the game or causes a complete system failure and BSOD. This issue has persisted for about a month and a half, despite trying various troubleshooting steps like running memtest86 with no errors, updating the BIOS, and stress testing different hardware. I'm still experiencing problems and have decided to seek assistance here.
I'm using an application called Bluescreenview, which indicates that the ntoskrnl.exe file is frequently involved in generating minidumps linked to this crash. I'm uncertain about the next steps. Minecraft appears to be the only game that triggers crashes, though it can also crash when idle on my desktop.
Here are my system details:
- Motherboard: MSI MEG Z390 ACE
- GPU: Nvidia GTX 1080ti
- CPU: Intel i9-9900K
- RAM: 32GB (16x2), brand unknown
I've attached the .dmp file here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/xwxfq4ktay1g8g...1.dmp?dl=0
And it's perfectly okay to play the unmodified version of Minecraft.
It appears to function well with standard yes responses, though there have been instances where the game crashes without a BSOD.
I used windbg to investigate the issue with the minidump and here’s what I’m seeing. It indicates the problem is linked to a module called nt and an image named ntkrnlmp.exe. That’s all I can clarify from this; any additional details would be helpful.
