Hello! It's common for games to display lower resolution at a distance. You're right, close-up details look sharp, while distant objects appear softer and more muddy. This is typical behavior across different resolutions. 1440p/4k monitors can still show some blur when viewing far away, but it's not unusual. 4k generally looks better overall on your screen.

Screenshot? Yes, games usually lower the resolution of faraway objects to save load. But if things from a distance appear blurry or fail to load, it could be because your hard drive is slow.

Some individuals claim they don't notice what I see on the screen when I take a screenshot, but I'll send one any way! Give me some time.

I'm using the 870 evo hard drive. I'm not sure its speed but it seems to work fine. It's been since 2020, so maybe an upgrade is needed.

it seems fine to me, the game is creating a distant 'fog' to enhance realism.

That makes sense! But hidden in the mist, the mountains seem like cardboard. Maybe it's just me. The game really looks great.

It seems like the simulation is effectively capturing how air density affects color perception over distance, making objects appear less distinct. At that range, it might even be a 2D view if the design is well thought out.
