Question: Low frequency knocking along with whining, buzzing sounds.
850w Corsair psu is making low frequency knocking and buzzing/whining noises recently. Despite having the same setup for ten months, these issues started a few days ago. The buzzing happens under load while the knocking seems random. It’s definitely the PSU problem—case fans are fine, noise appears when the GPU fan is off, and there are no loose screws or damaged cables. These sounds are concerning, especially the knocking which is very noticeable and bothersome. I have audio recordings but can’t upload them here.
Yes, you need to pay attention. Power supplies shouldn't produce any "knocking" noises. It's unclear exactly what could cause such a sound except maybe the fan bearing.
