Question: Lighting Strike affected my computer.
Yesterday's lighting strike affected my PC, but the surge protector didn't prevent it. It boots up and reaches the windows menu, yet no signal appears on the monitors. Both screens are powered on but display no output. I've switched to a different PSU without resolving the problem. My current setup includes an AMD 5600G CPU with an onboard GPU and MSI MB. Could you help identify which component is faulty and needs replacement? Thanks in advance.
complete system specifications available. brand and model of the power supply included.
Welcome to the forums, newcomer!
Very likely that everything that's hooked to your PSU might've fried after that lightning strike.
You should start stripping the innards and then breadboard, then test each individual part with known working hardware. Chances are the system might show signs of life now, but over time will fade away.
Please list the specs to your build like so:
CPU:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model.
It might be any of these things.
The cable, the port on either the GPU or monitor, or the GPU itself.
