I wanted to avoid the audacity forums again, since I can't join them and won't receive confirmation numbers. I'm now ready on my computer and used aqudacity to complete the process. All my cassettes are already listed in my audacity file, and I'd like to transfer everything to Media Player Legacy.

To save you some time, I'm wondering if I should simply enter "audacity" in that section and move all my audacity files at once, or should I handle them individually?

How would you proceed? If moving by file is necessary, it could take a long time, but that's exactly how my cassettes are currently organized under audacity—by title, with a large list.

As usual, being 74 and having low cognitive function means I really need help here. Please imagine I'm completely unaware, and it would make a big difference for me.

Thanks again to all my "Tom's Gurus."

Click the file (.mp3 or other), choose Open with, then pick another application.
A menu appears allowing you to select an app to open the file. It can be done once or permanently.
If the desired app isn’t visible, click Choose an app on your PC and a file explorer window will appear. You can add the specific program you wish to use. It will then be added to the list.
You may need to perform a file search first if you don’t remember where the program was installed.

For the moment, let's skip Audacity and Media Player.
Using Windows' standard File Explorer, identify where these files are located.
On the C partition, perhaps somewhere specific?
Is it in a single folder or divided into parts?
Could you give an example path for each cassette or track?
For instance: C:\Users\your name\Music\Country\Johnny Cash\cassette33sideA.mp3
or C:\Users\your name\Music\Johnny Cash - Folsom Prison Blues.wav.
Also, picture a single cassette on your PC—are there multiple files per cassette? Or are they all in one place?
And what format are these files in: mp3, FLAC, WAV, or something else?

Yes, and thank you for the reply. I believe this addresses the requirements:
The files are located on Drive C within the "Programs" folder.
Each cassette (both sides) corresponds to one file.
In your examples, option B is the correct format.
All music files are in mp3 format.

Did you mean to place them in a different location? It seems unexpected. I was anticipating a path like C:\Music or C:\Cassettes under C:\Users. How many mp3s do you have in total? Right now, when you go to C:\Programs and interact with the cassette, will it play using Audacity or another app, or not at all?

About 50 mp3's. When I click on the cassette it plays with media player. NOT legacy, but the media player with windows 11. Here's where I reach my level of uselessness, sorry. I try to follow the instructions I found on the web and they say transfer the file to BURN, and I jusrt gave up.
I tried to show you the whole C:// line but I can't copy it, sorry.

Can you type in the line keystroke by keystroke, rather than copying it?

It appears many users are encountering difficulties with Media Player Legacy and Windows 11.

Audacity will definitely play mp3s, but using the media player would be really strange. In the last post, you said clicking the cassette makes it play with the media player. What’s wrong with that idea?
