Question I5-14600KF & rtx 4060 assembly
Context: My old build from 2014 is dying part by part of a natural death. I’ve replaced ram and GPU and HDD and chassis over the years. Now the motherboard is not working as it should be.
I’m going to embrace its death and build a new one. My usage is usually on 1080 videos, light Gaming, expecting Diablo 4 once I have this built. Some photo editing on photoshop.
My objective is to not overkill.
I am considering reusing my current chassis. But I welcome recommendation on mATX chassis. Prefer not seeing inside.

Your situation is acceptable, keep some savings in mind for future use.
The specifications required for Diablo 4 are quite modest.

Storage: SSD with 90 GB available space.
Internet: Broadband Connection.
Even an i3-13100 would suffice; the built-in cooler would be adequate.
A i5-14600K would also work without issues.
I wouldn’t attempt to save $25 by purchasing the KF version.
Having integrated graphics is beneficial if you encounter GPU problems.
I’d start with integrated graphics and assess your needs.
This will give you a clearer picture of the required graphics power.
The top-rated cooler is well-reviewed and suitable.
The CPU can handle a more powerful graphics card later.
To accommodate that, consider spending $20 extra for the 850W PSU—it’s excellent.
A PSU will only draw the power it needs, no matter its maximum rating.
The 4060 model appears to be a solid choice.
Although the game requires only 16 GB of RAM, I prefer the 2 x 16 GB configuration.
Intel is not overly affected by RAM size, but I’d skip the Expo RAM intended for AMD systems.
The Intel equivalent is called XMP.
You’ll incur a small extra cost for RGB lighting. It makes no difference if your case is sealed.
G.skil is another viable RAM option.
Using two SSDs isn’t necessary; it’s simpler to manage one large drive and add storage later when needed.
Good suggestion regarding the SSD. I could start with a 2TB unit. Point raised about using a higher power PSU for long-term reliability. Looking forward to Black Friday offers on Amazon. Here’s my updated build; glad to receive your comments once more.
