Nothing if the data inside the BIOS gets broken then you need a new copy, but only using special programs from HP that only go through official repair shops and experts.

If you check my post, it's clear they said yes to the repairs. When there isn't another fix left, just stop talking here. But if there are other options coming up and you haven't tried those, feel free to reach out!

So you get your answer now. If you want to keep chatting here, please lower your energy level. You can't decide who joins or leaves this thread. Just remember that this is the last chance for me to tell you that clearly.

I only gave it a try and it did not fix anything. I have to get my laptop back from the shop that said they could not make it work.

If you don't want to fix the old motherboard, just buy a new one and put it in. That way, if you still want to keep running your computer, that's the best thing to do instead of trying to save what doesn't work anymore (on Amazon).

Can I change my BIOS settings? I tried using the HP BIOS Config Utility and wndmifit, but they don't work. I also tried NbDmifit, but it gives error 0x89 and says "failed to write SKU number" or "failed to write product number." Here are links about fixing that: https://www.ontikka.com/how-to-fix-produ...ror-on-hp/ http://inote4us.blogspot.com/2015/04/how...n-not.html

Before, it seems only HP had the right tools for this job. But honestly, I can't find any simple fix other than replacing the main board.

I've basically tried everything and stopped trying now. No one wants to lend me any hands either. But hey, I made a promise to myself not to buy HP products again.
