Question How do I pick the best battery for my laptop when I have to swap one out?
I often swap out batteries in my laptops. I wonder if anyone could share how to find the exact battery so I don't end up buying the wrong one on eBay or from other third-party sellers (since original parts are usually pricey, even if they sometimes exist, though I know they're great). Is there a site that lists how to get the part number for different laptop brands? I looked at Batteryuniversity and other places but didn't find any good info. What I need is some guide like "for HP batteries, look for a label starting with PN-30..." or something similar. Any help would be amazing thanks!
I used this tool on my Alienware M17 to show me what my PC's motherboard was called (using HWinfo). Since the Alienware had a website with spare parts, searching for the right model and looking up parts should take you to an HP parts page. It might not be true, but maybe HP does have a site like that, just like Dell does.
Thanks, that's really handy! Check out parts and upgrades for your Dell computer & more. Go to www.dell.com by typing in your service tag, part number or browse there to find exact replacements for what came with your Dell. I use HWinfo all the time too. Thanks again.
