To address this, I purchased Hetman Partition Recovery software and have been testing all my drives to recover any lost data.
When using the program for lost partitions, I encountered two puzzling points:
1. It identifies six lost partitions, all using FAT16 format. I’ve seen EXFAT partitions from Veracrypt and entire SSD drives used between my Mac and Windows PC, but the HDDs with sufficient memory aren’t EXFAT—they’re just file containers. I don’t recall ever having a FAT16 partition on any device.
2. The partition sizes vary from 1.5 to a massive 12 TB. Since my biggest drive was the 6TB HDD, I’m confused about how it could detect a 12TB partition even if I’ve used FAT16 before.
Do anyone have experience with this software, or is there a chance I might have overlooked something?
