Question Friends RTX 5090 FE and 7800x3d compared to my Asus RTX 5090 and 9800x3d...
So my friend's setup includes an SFF Build with a 5090FE and a 7800x3d GPU, negative 20 All Core Undervolt, and the GPU limit is at 90%. The system runs stock, with RAM at 6400MHz. In Cyberpunk 2077 we push settings high, using Frame Gen 4x at 4K resolution and around 220 FPS with DLSS quality, but he's only managing 275 FPS. This pattern repeats in Witcher 3 as well. I'm looking for any hint on how he can boost to 50 FPS more with Frame Gen, and this issue persists across all Frame Gen levels, even doubling or tripling them. I've also tested matching his CPU and GPU settings without much change, but RT Overdrive with DLSS at Quality still gives 60-70 FPS.

PSU is brand new, installed just two days ago, so the MOBO and AIO are fresh, along with the CPU. The GPU might be a month old, and the 4TB SSD is also recent.
MOBO BIOS version 1203 was updated yesterday; RESIZE bar is enabled. BIOS settings are set to Default. I’ll share my friends’ posts once they’re ready.

Same startup and software options available? Not restricted to antivirus/malware; includes fan/pump control, instead of bios... LED control, wallpaper... Each program uses minimal resources individually, but together they add up quickly. A 25% difference between 275 and 220fps is significant, especially with the same hardware*, though software differences matter more. An exception exists for the 8 missing ROPs in the 50 series – brand or vendor doesn’t matter. Use GPU-Z to verify ROP counts: https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/ge...5090.c4216. The 5090 model should have 176 ROPs; if it shows 168, the device may be faulty. You can choose to return/RMA or continue using.
Yeah I have everything set up. Last night I uninstalled my GPU drivers with DDU and after reinstalling it, my FPS jumped to 311 finally!!! But since I moved to Witcher 3, the FPS stayed the same as before I tested it. So I went back to CP2077 and I was at 220fps... not sure what's going on. It seems like both of us are just using Windows Anti-Virus. I got 0 LEDs on mine and he has a SFF build with a 90% power limit on his GPU.
