Hi
Apologies if this seems too simple, but I haven’t found a clear answer yet.
I’m considering replacing my current laptop and often use a dock.
So far I’ve been using an old Dell Latitude with ports on the base, which means I’m unfamiliar with USB docking.
I’m evaluating an ASUS UX3405 that has two Thunderbolt ports.
Could these work with a regular (non-Thunderbolt) dock for power, charging, data, and a single display like HDMI or DP? Or would I need a dock specifically designed for Thunderbolt?
The manufacturer’s description only mentions support for power and data, without any details about compatibility. There’s no mention of an extra “USB Alt Mode” port.
Thanks in advance.
