Hi, I recently purchased a Dell Wireless Keyboard and Mouse combo, KM3322W. The USB Receiver is connected to a Desktop with a TUF X570 Plus motherboard and an AMD Ryzen 9 3900x. I tested all the USB ports on my Desktop—there are more than four on the back and two inside the case. In any port, I experience lagging with the mouse, which sometimes disappears briefly, other times returns, and at other times it freezes completely for a second. This is quite unusual. Could you suggest a solution to resolve this issue? Thank you.
Could the delay persist when only the mouse is used, with the keyboard disabled?
Hey Ivt, your point is spot on! I didn’t realize that. Taking out the batteries from the Dell Bluetooth keyboard (since it lacks an on/off switch) and keeping the mouse with batteries actually resolved the lagging issue. The mouse worked much better and was responsive without the keyboard. But why does this happen with a Dell combo? Is there a solution? Thanks!
The similarity in Bluetooth dongles between the devices could be responsible (in some cases).
You can definitely connect multiple devices via Bluetooth, but sometimes unexpected issues arise.
I faced a similar problem where connecting a wireless headset and a Huawei Fit watch to my phone caused intermittent disconnections. I had to unpair and re-pair them repeatedly.
For your situation, test the connection on another computer or laptop to determine if the issue continues. If it persists, the hardware may be faulty; otherwise, your computer could be the cause.
The recommended fix is to purchase a mouse and keyboard separately, each equipped with its own Bluetooth dongle.
I experimented with various settings in my Bios, and the solution came from changing the USB Legacy option to Auto. There are three available choices:
USB LEGACY (ASUS X570 PLUS BR)
Auto
Disable
Enable
Initially it was set to Enable before. Once switched to Auto mode, it only engaged when detecting legacy USB devices, which resolved the lagging issue. Fascinating.
