Question Data Recovery and Partition for Xbox 360
Question Data Recovery and Partition for Xbox 360
I'm facing a challenging situation. I had a significant Minecraft world that I dedicated many years to building. Approximately two years ago, it got corrupted and was lost. It seemed like the world had been deleted, and I couldn't locate it anywhere. Recently, I considered using data recovery software to try to restore it, so I removed the HDD from the Xbox and connected it internally to my computer. I ran YupTools Partition Recovery and Stellar Data Recovery, but nothing came up clearly. Later, I opened the Windows Partition Manager and assigned the drive to a letter without formatting it. This led to the file format being listed as RAW instead of NTFS or similar. While Stellar Data Recovery produced more results, I hadn't purchased the license yet and wasn't sure if it would work. I also didn't know how to identify a specific Minecraft world among the files it displayed. My next step was to reinstall the drive on the Xbox 360 to copy a world onto a flash drive for inspection, but now the Xbox doesn't recognize the drive. This might be related to how the drive was assigned in Windows Partition Manager, so I'm unsure what to do next. Could you advise me on the best approach? Thanks.
Yeah if you kept using this drive ever since then there is pretty much no chance that file is recoverable. You should have used an Xbox-specific tool from the start, like FatXplorer. FATXplorer is the ultimate Xbox 360 storage device explorer, built for speed, compatibility, and reliability. It’s meant to be a top choice in your Xbox 360 toolset. You can find more info at fatxplorer.eaton-works.com or xplorer360, and while it’s unclear if you can make it readable again, using the suggested tools lets you back up your files to your PC. If needed, you can format the drive on the Xbox and transfer the data back.
I have a comparable problem. My drive appears as UNFORMATTED even though it was full. I saw someone disassembled the internal drive, removed the disc, and installed it in a new internal hard drive. I also read about fatxplorer. It’s unclear what the most effective approach is to check for recoverable data. Any advice would be appreciated.
