Question Connecting a 360Hz Monitor to a Laptop. USB 3.2 Gen 2 Port Compatibility.
Hello everyone,
I own an Asus Tuf Gaming F17 (2022) laptop and am trying to connect it to a 360Hz monitor. The device features a Thunderbolt 4 port with DP 1.4 connected to the IGPU, and a USB 3.2 GEN 2 type-c port with DP 1.4 plus GSync linked to the GPU.
I’m a bit confused about the USB 3.2 port’s performance. It states a maximum bandwidth of approximately 10 GBit and supports DP 1.4, but I need clarity on whether it can support a 1920x1080 display at 360Hz. My goal is to make the most of the monitor’s features, so I want to confirm if this port meets the requirements.
Regarding the Thunderbolt 4 port, I’d rather avoid using it since it would block GSync functionality.
does your laptop lack dp or hdmi? if so, opt for that alternative.
It seems the only choice for 360hz would be a Thunderbolt connection, which would require additional adapters.
