I’ve been searching for a solution for more than two weeks, and so far nothing has resolved the issue. Sorry if any details were missed.

Hardware
CPU: Ryzen 5 2600 (Stock cooler Wraith Stealth?)
GPU: XFX Speedster MERC319 6950 XT (considered mismatched but recently upgraded; CPU upgrade planned soon)
Motherboard: Gigabyte B450 Aorus Pro Wi-Fi Rev 1.0
RAM: T-Force Vulcan Z 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 3200MHz

My system shuts down unexpectedly during gameplay, yet fans and RGB remain active. The DRAM indicator stayed lit for a second before switching to the CPU LED briefly and then back to the DRAM LED, repeating endlessly. After powering off by pressing the power button, I could restart the PC and everything functioned normally. When loading the game again, a time bomb would trigger, causing delays ranging from 5 to 20 minutes. The affected game—Techtonica—lasts longer in online play with a friend (1–3 hours) compared to solo sessions.

Other attempts:
- Reseating RAM, using different slots or a single stick didn’t help.
- Memory diagnostics showed no errors.
- CMOS was cleared.
- BIOS flash updates covered F30–F32–F63.
- A fresh Windows install was performed.
- Event Viewer recorded an unexpected shutdown, but details were unclear.

I’m ready to share logs or further details if needed.

It might be due to a failing PSU or an unstable system.

Maybe I still have the old PSU from before I upgraded the GPU, but I can't test it in this system—it's only 550W, so it probably won't be enough to power the 6950XT. But at least it seems unlikely that the PSU is failing, since it only works in certain games. The system still runs fine for everything else, and even more demanding tasks like some 3D environments I work on in UE5 perform well. No?

I was also thinking about ordering a new PSU just in case.
