Hi, I'm having an issue with my RX 7800xt GPU. One fan stopped working and they replaced it at a service center. It would take about two weeks to install the new GPU, so I’m curious—can I use a Nvidia GT740 that my cousin has spare? Since my CPU doesn’t have integrated graphics, would that work? Also, if I install the GT740 myself and remove AMD Adrenaline using DDU, will it function properly after I’ve already sent in my old GPU? 😞

That should be fine. You can use DDU, but it's not necessary. There is nothing wrong with AMD's built-in driver uninstall process.

I personally think Nvidia drivers are harder to remove compared to AMD drivers, which often rely on DDU. If they don't come off easily, I stick with DDU. I've encountered some persistent Nvidia drivers that are tough to eliminate.
