Question Certain games failing to launch with no resolution.
Question Certain games failing to launch with no resolution.
Hello everyone.
It's been weeks since Rainbow Six Siege and Fortnite kept crashing at startup. Usually it runs when not focused, but once I opened the game I'd freeze and quit. I've tried everything possible: numerous SFC scans, clean boots, restoring health with Disk Cleanup, resetting my PC (which was on Windows 10) and even upgrading to Windows 11 (I'm fine there). Startup repair and uninstalling updates aren't working either. Other games like PUGB, Rocket League, Brawlhalla, and Sea of Thieves are running perfectly. What's happening with my computer? Is it faulty hardware?
Below are some specs:
Win11 home
Ryzen 5 3600
Powercolor Radeon RX 6600 hellhound
msi tomahawk max II b450 am4
16 GB Kingston HyperX Fury 3200MHz RAM
Corsair Bronze CV550 (I think)
1 x Kingston SSD 240GB (Windows installed)
WD Blue M.2 1TB (games installed)
Thanks in advance if you can help me with this. I've been struggling for over 18 hours trying to fix it.
Corsair bronze cv550 (probably.)
How old is the power supply unit in your system?
I'm resetting my PC (which was running Windows 10) and even upgraded to Windows 11 (I can use them without issues).
Did you not do a fresh installation of Windows 11, just reinstalling the installer to avoid a bad setup?
What BIOS version is installed on your motherboard?
The PSU in your build is approximately 1.5 years old.
If you're wondering how long it's been there, I believe it's around that time.
You didn't do a fresh installation of Windows 11, did you just reinstall the installer to check for issues?
Before the upgrade, I also updated Windows 10 and the games still had problems.
After the upgrade, since the crashes persisted, I reformatted both drives, which suggests it might have been a clean install.
MSI click bios 5, latest version.
Apologies if my answer seems off—I'm new to forums and this is my first help request!
