Question: Cant decide which ram to buy!
Question: Cant decide which ram to buy!
Here is the planned setup I intend to purchase in three days. My main concerns are about the RAM; please weigh my opinions and feel free to point out any mistakes. Also, share your thoughts on other components if you notice something that needs attention.
I aim to stay under 6000MHZ to avoid stability problems.
Sticking with EXPO RAM is a safer choice.
Choosing CL28 looks better than CL30 or CL32.
Check which applications and games will be added.
Will you attempt to overclock?

"MSI MAG X870E TOMAHAWK WIFI 8400MHz(OC) DDR5 Soket AM5 M.2 HDMI USB-C ATX Motherboard"
Begin by reviewing the motherboard's User Guide on MSI's site. (Be cautious with third-party manual sites. Just because MSI is listed in the URL doesn't guarantee it's the official site.)
The manual should detail supported RAM types and configurations.
Expect a Qualified Vendors List and possibly guidance on finding current updates online.
Read all terms carefully and examine any diagrams about RAM placement.
Some boards require the initial RAM to go into a designated slot—usually DIMM_A2.
Also pay attention to BIOS settings.
This GSKILL 32GB (2x16GB) Trident Z5 Neo RGB DDR5 6000Mhz CL28 AMD EXPO Dual Kit RAM kit looks promising.
You should be fine at 6000MT/s with two DIMMs installed, but choosing four DIMMs for more storage—like 128Gb instead of the usual 64GB—might require lowering the memory speed to around 4800MT/s or even slower.
If you plan to use four DIMMs later, it’s better to purchase a complete set of four identical DIMMs from the start, rather than mixing two pairs from different batches which could affect timing slightly.
It makes sense to seek QVL EXPO certified memory, though both of my recent AMD CPUs are working well with XMP-only DDR4 and DDR5 RAM.
Slower CL28 timings could boost FPS in games, but other applications (such as video rendering) may see little improvement, and you might save money by opting for slower CL32 RAM.
