Hi,
my parents have had the titled printer for a few months now and it generally worked well. However, recently it stopped printing in colour, although the tanks are still full.

I've tried:
- Installing new drivers
- Cleaning the heads using the software
- Performing a deep clean
- Holding the stop button for over 11 seconds

Nothing has resolved the issue. When opening the tray, the print head seems to move only a few times left and right before staying near the tanks under the cover. There appears to be no lever or mechanism to remove it.

I've checked the manual and various online guides, but none of them suggest a solution that matches what I've described. I'm unsure about the problem and think it might be related to the printer not being able to draw from the tanks properly. I noticed a tube was emptied correctly, but I can't see anything stuck inside.

Thanks for your help.

I observed that one tube appears empty, likely referring to the cartridge window showing emptiness. If this is true, I’m puzzled since my printer has six cartridges and if any run out it won’t print anything. Have your parents adjusted the settings for black ink only through the viewing window? Because if you change settings during a printing session, some may revert to their original state. You mentioned it was recently purchased, so it should still be covered by warranty. Anyway, this article might not apply directly to your Pixma model, but it could contain useful information.

I can share this with my parents.
And no, I believe you got the point wrong. I'm talking about the tubes connecting the cartridges to the print head. One of them is empty, while the others are full. Windows doesn't indicate an empty state; it shows the opposite. This is why it's so annoying that I can't reach the print head because it never comes out.

We confirmed it's set to black only, but it's not a problem. Even when we tried test prints meant to be colourful, they didn't work.

I reviewed a video of the printer and now I grasp what you meant about the pipes.
Your main goal appears to be positioning the print head in the middle for better access.
I was wondering if you've tried turning off the power to see if it stops where you want.
It might not work, but I'm just trying to assist you.

This idea has come to me recently. Right now I’m at home and won’t be with my parents until Friday. I’ll try it out and see if it helps. Your support has already been valuable. Any advice would be appreciated.
