I'm just starting out with PC gaming and I hope I'm not missing anything. Recently, playing games on my PC has caused crashes or blue screens. It began when I was playing Payday 2 and it blue-screened after a brief stutter. After restarting the game, it kept crashing again. I also experienced the same issue with Just Cause 3. A smaller game like Binding of Isaac didn't work for me either. I'm trying to figure out what's wrong but need some advice. Here are my details: Radeon R9 290x, Intel i5 4690k, 8 GB RAM, Windows 10.

What is the BIOS version for your motherboard? Also, what is the model and make of your PSU, along with its age? It might be helpful to get a dependable PSU from someone who owns one with at least 750W to ensure your system runs smoothly. By crashing means the system restarts or games crash to desktop.

Hello there. The issue could lie with the power supply, possibly supplying insufficient voltage to the essential parts. BSODs may result from a CPU lacking adequate power to meet game demands; the sudden power loss suggests a PSU problem. A motherboard fault is less likely but worth considering. Consider switching to a different power supply for your components, then run the same games with identical settings to check for continued instability.
