I own a Beyerdynamic 770 Pro (80ohms) and my internal aux input keeps malfunctioning... I need a DAC. My previous unit cost around $70 but is no longer available for purchase. Thank you!

I believe you'll need to spend around $250 for a DAC/Amp package since some quality DACs come bundled with the amp. I only own units with ifi and topping dac/amps. However, I think any DAC priced under $150 should suffice these days. The chip technology in DACs has advanced significantly, making it hard to judge without testing them. You can base your choice on brand, features, and price. The 770 pros are great for beginners and don’t need special equipment.

My DT880s come out of the headphone jack on my P70 laptop and sound excellent once they’re broken in—just as good as a $1000 DAC/amp.

Note: An 80-ohm connection can easily become loud with regular gear, so it won’t need a powerful amp. Most amps will be too loud, and using high gain could risk damaging your hearing.
