Question Best affordable PC under 250 for emulation, browsing, and Twitch
Hello, I've been trimming my hair for two days in a row while trying to choose the best PC for emulation, streaming, and live streaming.
I'm using a Raspberry Pi 400 for both gaming and browsing since I don't have a Windows desktop. It doesn’t require much power, but I want the best value for my money. Linux is also a bit of a hassle, haha.
I'm considering the SFF and mini HP EliteDesk series on Amazon. The 800 g5 mini with an Intel six-core i5 9500T and 16GB DDR4 costs $218, while the g2 i5 6500 with 8GB DDR4 is about $100 cheaper.
Does the SFF come with features like a graphics card that the mini doesn’t have? Am I possibly making a wrong choice and should I look elsewhere?
Any advice would be really helpful 😊
If these are the real CPU models present, then quicksync on their iGPUs is present, so any streaming will be managed by the iGPU. Emulation can work with a very basic GPU, possibly making the iGPU sufficient for both streaming and gaming, especially if it's an older emulation setup. For a PS2 Wii with high filters and 4K resolution, it won't be enough.
Thanks for the input. This addresses my concern about requiring a GPU for streaming 16-bit games. Sadly, I might have to accept 1x emulation on the PS2 and Wii, which is still far from what a Pi can do.
