Hey everyone,
I've noticed some changes lately. After the latest Windows update, my built-in display on the ASUS TUF A16 FA607PI started adjusting brightness based on what's on the screen. For instance, when the background is white, it brightens to match, but on darker backgrounds it dims. This is really bothersome.

I've tried setting the brightness change in Windows, but that option isn't available on my device. Earlier, when I first used the laptop, this problem appeared only with an external display. It seemed linked to the GPU switching—external running on D-GPU and built-in on i-GPU. I resolved it by changing the BIOS settings to use D-GPU only.

Now, regardless of whether an external display is connected, the issue persists. Also, when using an external display, both devices seem to run on the same GPU (d-GPU), but not when connected.

I'm pretty sure this isn't a hardware problem because the brightness returns to normal during Windows startup and only lowers after the whole process finishes.

If anyone has suggestions—other than reinstalling Windows—it would be really helpful.

Now, this concern (I'm nearly sure) isn't a physical problem, since brightness remains normal when I launch Windows, and after the startup completes I notice it gradually decreases.

So for anyone having this issue, I found a soultion (at least in my particular case). For whatever reason Armoury crate was the culprit. There is an option in Armoury crate Optimal Display Brightness (it does the same thing as Change brightness based on content that is ususally present in windows). However, when you have your GPU set at the Ultimate (meaning it forces your dGPU at all times regardless if you're on battery, or on charger) this setting is greyed out, so it shouldn't be active ever. it seems that Armoury crate glitched out, and enabled it, even though it wasn't supposed to. So the only logical answer was to elimiinate Armoury Crate. And it actually worked.
Long story short, uninstalling Armoury crate fixed the issue.
