The person explains that regardless of how long someone uses Linux, they can never master everything. They mention their Linux Mint 22.2 didn’t come with the nslookup command by default and they haven’t used it before. They appreciate the guidance on installing it. Their router is functioning normally with standard DNS settings and advanced security features. The nslookup command is operational, but they’re unsure which specific outputs they should see to avoid exposing their security details publicly. They request clarification on which numbers or results are needed without revealing sensitive information. They also note recent interactions with a tech support representative who suggested additional fees for service and expressed frustration over job search efforts while in vocational rehabilitation. They also mention being in the process of selecting a job coach provider.
I believe I reached a significant point today. While using the old Asus RT-AC51U router, I observed in the settings a selection of DNS servers. One of them is OpenDNS. Since I had previously used OpenDNS, I attempted that first. Next, I checked dnsleaktest.com and confirmed OpenDNS was functioning properly! I then started testing other options, and they also appeared to work. I captured some screenshots and forwarded them to cleanbrowsing support. They told me they operate on Vultr servers, which matched what I was seeing, but I had expected the cleanbrowsing listing to match the sample image on their site. This would indicate that the cleanbrowsing DNS was active continuously, which I wasn't aware of.
