Hey everyone, I currently have an X570 AORUS ELITE (rev. 1.0) motherboard that I used with 3600x / F3 bios for many years. My intention was always to upgrade to a 5800x3d, which I just got on sale. To prepare, I updated the BIOS on my MB to F37 and everything functioned properly for about three weeks while running the 3600x. This weekend, I replaced the 3600x with the 5800x3d. After booting up, I received the fTPM message but no boot device was detected. I checked the BIOS again—no device listed in the M.2 slot, though all other drives were fine. Then I swapped back to the 3600x, which also didn’t show up in the BIOS or during Windows installation. I got a new M.2 card and an external M.2 enclosure from BB today; the old M.2 still works in the enclosures. When installing the new drive, it wasn’t visible in the BIOS or when I tried to install Windows. I double-checked the part picker and confirmed the motherboard is compatible with the new drive. I’m really confused about what’s going on. Any advice?

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!
Have you reset the CMOS after confirming the BIOS update was applied? It's recommended to unplug the device from the power source and display, then detach the CMOS battery from the circuit board. Hold the power button for 30 seconds before reinserting the battery after a short wait.
What is the make and model of your storage drive? The drive should function in the lower M.2 slot on the main board.

I didn't reset my CMOS when updating to the newest MB drivers, since everything worked fine then. Would you consider trying it now?

No, the slot was free and functioning properly, which means my initial idea might have been incorrect. The main drive operated correctly after being placed in an external enclosure.

Cleared CMOS successfully, but the first M.2 slot remains blank in my BIOS.
