Question about the motherboard
Hi everyone, is there anything to concern? I just purchased an Asus ROG STRIX X670E-A gaming Wi-Fi ATX AM5 board and a G.Skill Trident Z5 RGB series (Intel XMP) with 64GB DDR5 memory. The issue is that the problem isn't marked in the quality list.
QVLs often get an unfair reputation. They don’t cover every memory kit for a specific board—many viable options exist outside the listings. Since some listings are mainly for marketing, there’s a lot of kits that won’t work with XMP or may cause instability. You should expect your purchased kit to function properly, but XMP support might be limited if you’re using the newest BIOS. Generally, 1:1 mode offers lower latency and better performance, while 2:1 mode provides higher clock speeds. For most Ryzen CPUs, 1:1 mode usually delivers solid results between 6000–6400 MT/s, with some rare exceptions up to 6600. However, at speeds above 6000 MT/s, the default setting often shifts to 2:1, which can hurt performance compared to a more affordable 6000 CL30/32 kit. If you want stability at XMP, consider skipping the memory kit altogether and opting for a cheaper model instead.
It's not ideal. It might function well, but problems are common and fixing them often requires some work.
