The x5675 performs significantly better. I mentioned the x5690 earlier, thinking it might fit your budget. Additionally, the X series clearly outperforms the W series.

But one thing important. If u are using the basic power supply which is a Dell 525w i think. Before spending cash on cpu think spending on a psu. The dell psu will not do the trick for a card like rx580. It is very powerful and resource demanding gpu but everything about performance and its price its a beast. The dell psu does not provide enough power when the gpu starts to get tense into modern games. Thus due to psu not providing enough power the system shuts down to not damage any other component.(THIS IS A VERY RISKY THING). You don't want to have your whole system burnt down for some dollars psu. I would say before spending cash on cpu try getting a new psu of good company with good build quality,80+ bronze or above efficient. Getting new cpu is not a good option over a psu in your case. I would recommend if on budget try 650w or 750w psu. Try these psu: Crosair VS650 WHITE+ Cooler Master MWE Gold 650w fully modular Seasonic Evga 650w bronze

I've noted the PSU choice and am considering the Corsair RM750x Gold. While it seems excessive right now, I'm thinking about using it if I decide to build a new system later. Regarding your question, the W3680 and W3690 can be overclocked with throttle stop on X-series chips too.

The X series can handle all cores at full capacity above 4.0 GHz on the T3500 motherboard. If you're unsure about power supply capabilities, checking Dell's specifications might be helpful. Keep in mind that rated power and actual output can differ.

I should have been more careful with my comments about the X-series. Upgrading the PSU for the T3500 is essential if you want the RX 580 to run properly—definitely worth it 200% of what you think. I’ve had firsthand experience and thought about risking damage to my motherboard.

My nephew kept my old T3500 running with overclocking and a Nvidia GPU for more than a year without issues. The Dell documentation indicates the T3500 supports two GPUs with a 150 Watt power draw per unit. https://www.dell.com/downloads/global/pr..._sheet.pdf The RX 580 has a TDP of 185 Watts. https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/ra...-580.c2938 There’s a high likelihood the Dell power unit can handle an RX580. I wouldn’t suggest purchasing a new supply just yet until you test its consumption.
