Approximate Purchase Date:
November 2022
Budget Range:
Around 500$ (Hoping to secure a good deal for Black Friday/Cyber Monday)
System Usage from Most to Least Important:
GAMING, also I do a fair amount of schoolwork, but I acquired this PC mainly for gaming purposes.
Are you purchasing a monitor: No, I currently own an LG Ultragear 27-inch 144Hz model.
Parts to Upgrade:
CPU or GPU (If I decide to upgrade my motherboard, that’s also an option; I’m still unsure about compatibility with this board)
Do you need to purchase an operating system:
No
Please keep in mind that if you’re using an OEM Windows license, you’ll need a replacement when installing a new motherboard.
Preferred Website(s) for Parts:
Newegg, Amazon, Anywhere with good prices?
Location:
Glendale, AZ
Parts Preferences:
I lean towards NVIDIA and, for processors, I’d say Intel—just because they’re generally considered better overall.
Overclocking:
Maybe?
SLI or Crossfire:
Not certain...
Your Monitor Resolution:
2560 x 1440
Additional Comments:
I’m finding it difficult to identify my PSU since it’s not visible easily (located at the bottom of the case and beneath the GPU). If you need help, I’m happy to assist.
CPU: Intel Core i7 3770
CPU cooler: ??
Motherboard: STGAubron B75M4
BIOS: American Megatrends Inc. (Version 4.6.5)
Graphic Interface: Bus- PCI-Express 3.0 (Link Width: x16)
Ram: 32GB Total: DDR3 8GB (x4) – Samsung (PC3-12800 [800 MHz])
SSD/HDD: Kingfast 1TB HDD
GPU: NVIDIA Geforce RTX 2060 SUPER (Samsung 8GB GDDR6)
PSU: ??
Chassis: ??
OS: Windows 10 Pro (64-bit)
Monitor: LG Ultragear 27-inch 144Hz
And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading:
Gaming. I really appreciate the flexibility to boost graphics settings without worrying about performance drops. While my PC handles most games fine, it’s been having issues with some recent titles. I’m open to suggestions—I haven’t assembled a PC in ten years, so I can follow the advice!

We must definitely know the precise PSU to make any decisions. You already have excellent components on that motherboard. A platform upgrade would be your full budget, but at 1440p you also require something superior to the 2060S. You have two choices in my opinion. Either retain your graphics card and upgrade the platform, or purchase a new graphics card and allocate funds for a new platform. I’d likely choose the first option. You might want to consider reallocating your budget for a higher-end build or set aside more funds in case you need to sell most of your current PC parts.
