Is it accurate that having more RAM causes the game to consume even more memory?

well most games don’t require a lot of RAM to function properly. they only utilize a specific area and amount of space in RAM, working within those limits. if your RAM is slow or has low bandwidth, you’ll likely notice drops in FPS, stutters, or tearing. that’s why it’s usually suggested to upgrade to faster RAM or use dual-channel configuration. to answer your question, games don’t need more RAM and they don’t consume it excessively. however, if you only have 4GB of RAM in a 64-bit OS with other apps running, you’ll still need a minimum. you just need better RAM and a better interface for most games, which can improve performance and/or FPS.

no, the ram is designed to hold only what's necessary.
the ram won't help games run faster.

well, most games don’t require a lot of RAM to function properly. they only use a specific amount of space and operate within that limit. if your RAM is slow or has low bandwidth, you’ll likely notice drops in frames per second, stutters, or tearing effects. that’s why it’s usually suggested to upgrade to faster RAM or use dual-channel configuration. to answer your question, games don’t need more RAM, and they don’t consume it excessively. however, if you only have 4GB of RAM in a 64-bit OS with other apps running, you’ll still need a minimum. better RAM and a better interface in most games can help boost performance and/or FPS.

also keep in mind that some games might be poorly developed, such as those with memory leaks. this can lead to slower performance or even crashes like BSODs.
